The answers you type into the folder, and your email address if you give us one. Nothing else is asked for.
We do not require an account to fill in the folder. Until you buy something or ask for the sample, we hold your answers against an anonymous session identifier stored in a cookie on your device — not against your name or email.
Passwords, PINs, tax file numbers, card numbers, full account numbers, crypto seed phrases, Centrelink CRNs and Medicare numbers. These are rejected at the point of entry, both in your browser and again on our server before anything is saved.
The folder is designed to record where something is found, not what it is. See what we never store.
In a database hosted in Sydney, Australia, encrypted in transit and at rest. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Your answers are deleted six months after your last update, by an automated job that runs nightly. Updating anything resets the clock. Any folder you have already downloaded remains yours.
Email addresses are held separately, on the basis of your consent, until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
Nobody. Your answers are not sold, rented or shared — not with insurers, not with funeral providers, not with advertisers.
We use service providers to run the site: a database host, a payment processor, an email provider and a web host. They process data on our instructions only.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it immediately rather than waiting for the six-month schedule. Email hello@handoverfolder.com.
